What is SpeedBit Video Accelerator and why do I need it?
SpeedBit Video Accelerator significantly reduces "buffering" problems and interruptions or "hiccups". When you open an embedded YouTube or other video from one of over 100 supported video sites, SpeedBit Video Accelerator will instantly make your videos stream faster and play smoother.

How do I use SpeedBit Video Accelerator?
Continue to browse and watch videos as you always do and SpeedBit Video Accelerator will automatically begin to accelerate the videos, making them run faster and smoother. SpeedBit Video Accelerator includes a unique video search feature for finding videos around the web, right from your desktop, and also bookmarks the last ten videos you watched, for easy replays. Note that the bookmark feature can also be disabled for privacy purposes.

How does SpeedBit Video Accelerator work?
With SpeedBit Video Accelerator installed, your browser’s connection to specific streaming video server is being rerouted through the Video Accelerator Daemon. Unlike the normal browser connection, the Daemon uses a unique patent pending technology that substitutes the single connection with a sophisticated multi-connection algorithm. The end result is an (up to) 5 times faster connection, which handles the cache buffering (the "preloading" of the video) much more efficiently.

How can I tell if SpeedBit Video Accelerator is working properly?
The "Now Accelerating..." message will appear from your desktop tray icon each time an embedded YouTube or other video from one of over 100 supported video sites begins to load. When the Video Accelerator kicks-in, the progress bar "chunks" animation indicates multi connection streaming, as opposed to the standard single connection and demonstrates how fast and smooth the video is being delivered to you.

Is there an accurate way to measure acceleration?
Yes! You can use a 3rd party bandwidth utility such as DUMeter that provides graphical display of internet data transfer rates and support/help with how to measure the level of acceleration.

SpeedBit is continually adding new video sites to it’s supported list. SpeedBit Video Accelerator currently accelerates streaming videos from YouTube and over 100 supported video sites with even more sites coming soon, so stay tuned!

What is the difference between SpeedBit Video Accelerator versions for YouTube, iTunes, Dailymotion etc…?
Currently, all the versions are the same, except the iTunes (Premium) version. SpeedBit Video Accelerator for YouTube (or MetaCafe, Dailymotion, etc.) is the free version that accelerates embedded videos from YouTube and over 100 supported video sites. SpeedBit Video Accelerator for iTunes is the Premium version that accelerates the download of iTunes movies, music videos and TV shows up to 10 times faster.
SpeedBit Video Accelerator for iTunes (Premium) is available by subscription for a yearly or monthly fee and also supports the acceleration of embedded videos from YouTube and over 100 supported video sites.

How do I remove SpeedBit Video Accelerator from my computer?
Go to Start -> Programs and find SpeedBit Video Accelerator program.
Select "Uninstall Speedbit Video Accelerator".
Alternately you can go to Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs -> SpeedBit Video Accelerator.

Can I remove the "now accelerating" message without loosing acceleration of my videos?
Yes you can! To deactivate the "now accelerating" message without disabling the video acceleration, simply right click on the SpeedBit Video Accelerator system tray icon, choose ‘Settings’ and uncheck ‘Show Tray Messages’. If you disable the “now accelerating’ message the Video Accelerator system tray icon will still indicate when acceleration is in progress by flashing.

Is there a way to bookmark my favorite videos?
Not yet. We are currently in the process of developing this feature and will let you know as soon as it is available. However, the "Recently accelerated" tab lists the last 20 videos watched while SpeedBit Video Accelerator was on.

Do I have to open the SpeedBit Video Accelerator main window for the acceleration to work?
No. When you watch a video, SpeedBit Video Accelerator will automatically begin to accelerate your videos making them run faster and smoother.

What is the difference between the SpeedBit Video Accelerator search and the search I have in YouTube or another site?
Our search aggregates results from all major video sites across the web. Instead of typing the same search query on different sites, you can simply enter it once in the SpeedBit Video Accelerator search box and you will receive results from all major video sites. SpeedBit Video Accelerator’s search engine is powered by FileRatings.com/Video.

What are the small colored boxes on the bottom left of the SpeedBit Video Accelerator screen?
These small colored boxes let you add a personal touch to your SpeedBit Video Accelerator account. Simply select one of the colored boxes at anytime to change the color of the SpeedBit Video Accelerator main window – enjoy!

Why can’t SpeedBit Video Accelerator remember my chosen color scheme?
We want to keep SpeedBit Video Accelerator as light as possible. All it takes is one click on your favorite color when you open the main window, to change it back to your preferred color!
